Author, Speaker, and Workshop Facilitator
Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Stacey Alfonso-Mills is a self-published author of three Caribbean-based children’s illustrated storybooks – The Boys of Sinclair Hill ‘Fun in the Backyard,’ The Boys of Sinclair Hill ‘The Princess, The Treasure and The Blue Dragon,’ Manatee has a Question.
The characters from The Boys of Sinclair Hill books are modeled after her own sons, Mathew, Anthony, and Alexander, highlighting their love of the outdoors in the Caribbean. All of her books are written in a read-aloud format and contain Caribbean elements (with focus on Trinidad and Tobago) in its storyline and illustrations, allowing Caribbean children to easily relate to the story while inviting non-Caribbean children to learn more about our unique and beautiful country. Her books are part of the Read to Rise and Read for the Record primary school programmes, hosted by The Bridge Foundation, as well as the Let’s Read initiative. She is very active with book-readings and writer’s workshops for students at schools in Trinidad and Tobago.
When she is not involved in the literary field, She is a Communications Consultant and also Managing Director of a project management company called MAALAN Resources Limited, which offers project support and business communication services to companies in the energy sector. She was primarily educated in Trinidad and Tobago and hold a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication from University of Leister, England.
